World culture: Dominican Republic

The largest and most northerly of the Windward Islands, Dominica carries unique qualities in culture, and lifestyle. It faces the Atlantic Ocean to the east and the Caribbean sea to the west. Of volcanic in origin, the island is generally rugged, mountainous, and highly forested, along with many lakes and waterfalls. This helps characterize the typical Dominican attitude to daily life. In essence, Dominicans are highly nature-oriented, eating the most tropical fresh fruit and vegetables seen in the famous early morning markets. They also enjoy fresh fish made with coconut which is one of the typical Dominican dishes. Their general attitude of being timeless in this beautiful and forested island, generates their overwhelmingly sense of confidence towards life's hardships. Dominicans are genuine in their behavior without extensively talking over a problem, and yet acting on it slowly but efficiently. Along with their peaceful manners, Dominicans also enjoy their yearly Carnival festivity. A typical beer that is highly consumed in Dominica is the Khabuli. Whether they are drinking Khabuli or not, their silent behavior often shadows their astute nature. As an example, Dominicans may not be seen as business savvy to some just by their overall timeless, non talkative nature, yet they might own extensive highly monthly-profitable real estate. As the typical Dominican would end his day, either relaxing under a sunset or walking in the rocky beach, they would tell you that the world runs so fast to end exactly where he does at the end of every day.
