Dear readers regarding to this question, I will answer with a poem which show us what is, how is, the relation between human fellows and God. This is a answer of one truly dedicated Christian person.
I have asked God to take away my pride; But He says: NO ; he says, that pride has not his duty to be taken away; I have to give up myself with pride.
I have asked for courage ; but God gives me dangers, to win about them.
I have asked for his love; but God gives me people with problems, to help them.
Do you need God, to be less arrogant, to get his patience and blessing?
Do you need God to understand things of our world, not just looking with our eyes, but with his eyes, whit his vision, because you will see differently and clearly many things? You can be, you will be closer and closer to Him.
He wants to help you, he wants to see you giving good fruits.
Do you need God, not only to take care for yourself and your family, but with open eyes, to see the others needs, and approach them with a deep love in your heart?
If you ask something from him, you will see, it won't give you exactly what do you want, but He knows exactly what do you need, and He will give you more than that.
Finally, do you need God? You do because outside him you have an unmeaningful life, you have a life without a certain reason. God is who will give color to your life.
"And it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me" Galatians 2,20
